Hundreds of men gathered at Tower City Center on Saturday for the 2025 Men’s Health Summit, a free community event focused on advancing men’s physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Organized by Care Alliance Health Center in partnership with the City of Cleveland, the summit offered a comprehensive lineup of health screenings, expert-led panels, and wellness resources aimed at addressing the unique health challenges men face today.
The three-hour event, held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., transformed the downtown venue into a vibrant hub of health education and community engagement. Attendees received free services including blood pressure and glucose checks, dental screenings, HIV/AIDS testing, and FIT (fecal immunochemical test) kits for colorectal cancer screening. Insurance enrollment assistance and birth certificate vouchers were also available to help individuals navigate healthcare access barriers.
“Our goal is to break down barriers and make health care more accessible and engaging for men,” said a spokesperson from Care Alliance. “By providing education and resources in a supportive environment, we hope to inspire lasting health improvements.”
The summit’s keynote address was delivered by Grammy-nominated poet and activist Kevin Powell, who shared personal insights on masculinity, mental health, and the importance of community support. Powell’s message underscored the summit’s broader theme: empowering men to take proactive steps toward their health and well-being.
Throughout the day, attendees participated in interactive workshops covering topics such as nutrition, stress management, and financial wellness. Local vendors and community organizations were on hand to provide information on services ranging from housing assistance to mental health counseling. Free haircuts and giveaways added to the welcoming atmosphere, encouraging men to engage in conversations about their health in a relaxed setting.
The summit is part of a broader initiative to raise awareness during Men’s Health Month, highlighting the need for increased focus on men’s health issues nationwide.
