Jimenez emphasized that Men’s Health Month is not solely about physical health but also encompasses mental health and emotional well-being. She noted that as men age, the risk increases for conditions like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and diabetes—all of which can be prevented or managed with appropriate care and early detection. “I encourage you, or the men in your lives, to get regular checkups, be aware of preventable risks, and take steps to improve your health,” Jimenez stated.

Health experts recommend that men begin regular blood pressure checks at age 18, cholesterol screenings every 4-6 years starting at age 20, and colon cancer screenings beginning at age 45.
