The 12th edition of The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (DGR) in India, held on May 18, 2025, marked a significant milestone with over 2,000 Triumph motorcycle owners participating across more than 40 cities. This annual charity event, renowned for its blend of classic motorcycling and dapper attire, successfully raised awareness and funds for men’s health issues, particularly prostate cancer and mental health.
A Stylish Display for a Noble Cause
Riders donned their finest suits, bow ties, and helmets, parading through city streets on vintage and modern classic motorcycles. The event’s unique combination of fashion and philanthropy attracted attention from both the motorcycling community and the general public, highlighting the importance of men’s health advocacy.
Record Participation Across India
Cities like Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Delhi, and Mumbai saw large turnouts, with Bangalore leading at 1,355 riders. Other notable cities included Hyderabad with 1,483 riders, Chennai with 710, and Delhi with 632 participants. The collective efforts of these riders contributed to a substantial increase in funds raised for the Movember Foundation, the event’s official charity partner.
The Triumph of the 400 Twins
A standout feature of this year’s ride was the prominence of the 400cc twin-cylinder Triumph motorcycles. These bikes, known for their blend of performance and style, garnered significant attention and added to the event’s visual appeal. Their participation underscored the diverse range of motorcycles embraced by the DGR community, from classic models to modern interpretations.
Global Impact and Continued Support
The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride is a global initiative that takes place annually in over 1,000 cities across more than 100 countries. Since its inception in 2012, the event has raised over $59 million USD for men’s health programs, focusing on prostate cancer research and mental health initiatives. The 2025 edition in India contributed significantly to this total, reflecting the growing awareness and participation in the country’s motorcycling community.
Looking Ahead
As the event continues to grow in India, organizers aim to expand participation and further integrate the DGR into the cultural fabric of the motorcycling community. Plans for the 2026 ride are already underway, with aspirations to include more cities and increase fundraising efforts. The success of the 2025 edition has set a new benchmark for future events, reinforcing the power of community and style in supporting a noble cause.
