Kylian Mbappé’s Coalition Capital Invests in France SailGP Team

On Friday, the Rolex SailGP Championship announced that Coalition Capital, led by French football superstar Kylian Mbappé, will invest in the France SailGP team. This news follows the recent appointment of DJ Khaled as the league’s Chief Hype Officer.

Investment Details and Charitable Partnership

Alongside its financial investment, Coalition Capital’s ‘Inspired by KM’ initiative is set to serve as the official charity partner of the French team. The team, known as “Les Bleus”, is managed by K-Challenge, co-led by Bruno Dubois and Stephan Kandler.

“We are excited to be on board with this new adventure with the France SailGP Team, alongside Accor and other investors,” said Mbappé. “I’m also proud that IBKM has the opportunity to engage more young people around the world through this relationship.”

SailGP CEO Sir Russell Coutts expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Kylian Mbappé into our growing SailGP family of partners and investors—he’s undeniably one of the most influential athletes of our time, and an inspiration to sports fans across the globe.”

France SailGP Team Notable Achievements

The French team, helmed by driver Quentin Delapierre, is among the original six teams that participated in SailGP since its inception in 2019. Currently, they hold the record for the fastest speed in SailGP history, clocking in at 99.94 km/h (62.01 mph) during Season 3 in Saint-Tropez.

This announcement precedes a series of SailGP events in the United States, where DJ Khaled will play a key ambassadorial role. His campaign will highlight upcoming U.S. Sail Grand Prix events scheduled in cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York.

The Los Angeles Sail Grand Prix will be broadcast this weekend on CBS Sports Network. Day 1 coverage begins at 11 p.m. ET on Saturday, followed by live coverage of Day 2, airing on Sunday at 5 p.m. ET.
