Authorities Investigate Murder-Suicide Case in Thousand Oaks
A recent discovery in Thousand Oaks, California, has raised deep concerns among local authorities. A hiker stumbled upon the skeletal remains of two individuals, later identified as Jose Luis Perez, 64, and Stephanie Elizabeth Perez, 64. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office announced this tragic finding on Thursday.

The couple, who resided in Simi Valley, had been missing for nearly a year, with their disappearance reported following a sudden loss of contact with family and friends. Alarm bells began to ring when Stephanie Perez failed to report to her remote job, prompting her employer to notify law enforcement for a welfare check.
Findings of the Investigation
Upon investigating the couple’s residence, detectives uncovered several personal items, including passports, cellphones, and cash, alongside their vehicle. According to the Medical Examiner’s Office, both individuals suffered gunshot wounds to the head. Investigators believe Josè Perez shot Stephanie and then turned the gun on himself.
