Rob Gronkowski on Life After NFL: Coaching Not in His Plans

Rob Gronkowski, the renowned former New England Patriots star, recently shared insights into his post-retirement life and the possibility of coaching football. Despite his deep love for the game, Gronkowski has no intentions of stepping into a coaching role in the NFL or college football.

Why Coaching Isn’t for Him

In an interview with TMZ Sports, Gronkowski stated, “My life is just way too good right now.” He elaborated on the demands of coaching, highlighting the stress associated with the role. “I’ve seen what they go through. It’s one of the most stressful jobs I would say in America,” he remarked, explaining that a coaching position requires a significant time commitment that he is not willing to make.

Current Involvement in Football

Post-retirement, Gronkowski remains connected to football through his role as a commentator. He joined Fox Sports as a studio analyst in 2019, providing insights on shows like Fox NFL Sunday and Fox NFL Kickoff. He believes this involvement is perfect for him at present, stating, “Where I’m at now doing the Fox commentary on Sundays I think I’m involved in football just the right amount.”

Future Coaching Aspirations

While Gronkowski doesn’t envision coaching at the professional level, he is open to the idea of coaching younger athletes in the future. “I can see myself coaching one day when I have kids in my life, coaching their teams, pop warner,” he said, indicating that he may consider coaching at the high school level as well. His extensive background as a multi-sport athlete will likely inform his approach to coaching various sports.

A Look at His Football Career

Gronkowski’s football journey started at the University of Arizona, where he played for two seasons before being drafted by the Patriots in 2010 as the 42nd overall pick. Throughout his impressive career, he secured four Super Bowl titles and earned several accolades, including Comeback Player of the Year in 2014 and five Pro Bowl selections. He is often regarded as one of the greatest tight ends in NFL history.

Gronkowski’s path after football demonstrates a commitment to balancing his passion for the sport with a lifestyle that prioritizes personal well-being.
