On July 10, 2025, Emory University’s Goizueta Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC) hosted its July Men’s Health Program at the Emory Brain Health Center, focusing on cognitive health and proactive strategies for brain wellness. The event, tailored specifically for men, aimed to foster awareness about Alzheimer’s prevention, mental health, and the importance of early intervention in cognitive decline.

The program featured expert-led sessions that delved into the latest research on Alzheimer’s disease, emphasizing preventive measures and lifestyle modifications that can contribute to long-term brain health. Attendees engaged in discussions about mental health awareness, recognizing the signs of cognitive impairment, and strategies to maintain cognitive function as they age.

A significant aspect of the event was its community-centered approach. Participants had the opportunity to connect with local businesses and organizations operated by fellow Men’s Health Program members, highlighting the importance of community support in health initiatives. The event also provided a platform for men to share personal experiences and challenges related to cognitive health, fostering a sense of camaraderie and mutual support.

The Men’s Health Program at Emory’s ADRC is nationally recognized for its efforts to increase men’s participation in Alzheimer’s research and education. By creating a space dedicated to men’s health issues, the program addresses the unique challenges men face regarding cognitive decline and encourages proactive engagement in health maintenance.

Emory’s commitment to brain health extends beyond this program. The Goizueta ADRC is part of a national network of Alzheimer’s research centers supported by the National Institutes of Health, focusing on early diagnosis and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. Through initiatives like the Men’s Health Program, Emory continues to lead in research, education, and community outreach to combat cognitive diseases.
