Tragic Collision in Brooklyn Involves Social Media Influencer
In a heartbreaking event in Brooklyn, New York, a social media influencer has been charged following a fatal car accident that resulted in the deaths of three individuals, including two children. Miriam Yarimi, known for her online presence as a wigmaker and glam influencer, was allegedly driving at double the speed limit prior to the collision.
The Incident
On the day of the accident, reports indicate that Yarimi, 35, was driving her Audi A3 at approximately 50 miles per hour in a 25-mph zone. Police have confirmed that her driver’s license was suspended at the time of the incident. The collision began when Yarimi rear-ended a Toyota Camry before crashing into a mother and her three children, who were reportedly in a crosswalk at the time.
Victims and Consequences
Natasha Saada, 32, and her daughters, Diana (8) and Deborah (6), tragically lost their lives at the scene. A fourth child, a 4-year-old boy whose identity has not been disclosed, remains in critical condition. Yarimi and the driver of the Camry both sustained minor injuries, but Yarimi required extrication from her overturned vehicle.
Statements and Charges
Witnesses reported that Yarimi claimed to have been “possessed” and suggested that the CIA was following her when first responders arrived. In the aftermath of the crash, she has been charged with three counts each of criminally negligent homicide, second-degree manslaughter, and assault, among other offenses. Traffic Violations and Legislative Response
Details emerging from the investigation reveal that Yarimi’s vehicle had accumulated numerous traffic violations over a span of time, including 21 speeding camera tickets and five red light infractions, totaling nearly $10,500 in fines. In light of the tragedy, there are renewed calls for legislative action requiring speed limiters for drivers with multiple traffic violations.
